Aurora, Godess of Dawn - East Fjords, Iceland
We had level 9 aurora conditions on this specific night in Iceland. A display unlike anything I've ever seen!
Driving deep into a remote part of Iceland's East Fjords only accessible by high clearance 4WD we were able to capture the reflections of light in small alpine tarns which dotted the landscape.
Although the mountains seen in this photo may look small, they tower thousands of feet into the air above us.
This photo was captured using advanced focus stacking and depth of field blending techniques which allowed me to photograph the massive field of view in front of me. You're looking at 4 photos blended together for view and focus, taken seconds apart.
