Alien Lands - Saline Mountains, Death Valley, California
This image was captured looking South, from the Eureka Sand Dunes, as a giant storm dumped sand, ice and rain over the Saline Mountain Range.
Prior to this trip ( May 2015 ) I'd never seen any storms of this size and speed in my life.
This image is made from a long 5 second exposure, capturing the movement of the sand over the valley floor, along with the huge clouds rising over the 6,500 foot mountains in the distance.
The afternoon sun was coming in full force, as seen on the lefthand side of the photo, providing color and saturation to the entire landscape.
After spending 3 days in the Eureka Valley, hiking and taking photos, I took one of the off road routes, which led me to the Saline Valley Hot Springs, directly behind the mountains you see in this photo. Good times!
Thanks for Looking,
