King of the West - Sierra Nevada Mountains, California
Mount Whitney ( 14,505 feet ), the tallest peak in the lower 48, catches morning light through the clouds in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
Many times during the morning the mountain would be completely encapsulated in clouds, look closely and you'll see many of them on the lower peaks. Once in a while everything would clear and the summit would show.
This image was captured from Whitney Portal while doing a short hike through the area one morning. Such a neat place!
